Module and action edit

Hello pro devs.

I have a need for 2 smaller jobs.

-Need to change functionality of this module protect node module (http://drupal.org/project/protected_node) to ask for password only when editing.
-Need an custom action triggered when created new node that sends an email with basic info to field stated in CCK content type
