I installed the module image but when I go to site configuration>image an error is shown: "The directory sites/default/files/images/temp does not exist." But when I use an ftp manager to check for the directory, the directory exists: sites/default/files/images. I cannot create the temp directory.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

Marking as duplicate of #166145: Images directory declared "The directory does not exist." but changing image_default_path in variable table works. Please search existing issues before creating a new one.
