There exists a shell plugin for atom feeds but they are not yet parsed.

Attached is a patch against HEAD for the missing parse_item implementation of the Atom feed parsers.

This might not cover every possible Atom news feed field as yet but it satisfied my requirements. Hopefully someone else will find it useful as well.

Cron gave me a fatal error at line 111 of plugins/eparse_namespace_atom10.inc after applying this patch:

$data->link[] = $this->convert_strings(array(

Also some problems with not including rss parsing as well as atom which I think is due to line 59 of plugins/eparse_type_atom.inc

$item->title = eparse_namespace_rss20::get_item_title($data->title, $body);

Sorry I don't have any patches (other than changing $data->link[] above to $data->link).
