It would be great if you could see some parts of the actual content within the activity stream just like in buddypress. What do you think about it?

sirkitree commentedI think that is pretty cool, yes. It also could be done from within the theme functions. There should be enough data passed into them that you would be able to load a node (thought that might be intensive) or at least do a smaller query to get some of the body for certain types.
I'll definitely keep this in mind for when we get far enough to start writing the theme functions. Thanks!

portait commentedYou are welcome. I am glad that you like this feature.
design.er commentedI posted a similar feature request and noticed yours so I'd better subscribe here. :)
But I'd need it for version 6.1. I hope a port to 6.1 is not too difficult.
sirkitree commentedI think this could be accomplished with some custom tokens for any implementing module. Node being the most likely I'll throw one in there - something like [body-append]
mrjavum commentedThere must be the config settings for activity message length...
Scott Reynolds commentedthere isn't a setting but rather a db column ;). You need to change the schema
Comment #7
Scott Reynolds commentedWe already join activity table to the Node table. So you can use the Node:Body, and then trim it to a Trim this field to a maximum length.
Or for that matter any field. We should look at binding all the CCK fields, but thats a separate issue.
edit: basically, you create your View, add a new field Node: Body and tell Views how to trim it. Making Exactly that View as posted, is already doable

pribeh commentedHow about imagefields? Are all fields open to activity 2.x? If so than this is exactly what I'm looking for.
design.er commentedI saw that this is implemented in activies 2.x-dev.
I'd really appreciate if you could implement this feature also in activities 1.x.
I think it's a seperate issue (#8) but CCK tokens like imagefields would also be really great.
Thanks a lot for your great work! :)
