The node edit form, and the message given on changing presets sizes, use the phrase 'regenerate derivative images'.
The admin content action we supply is called 'Rebuild image thumbnails'. This makes it less than obvious that it's this thing you're after.

Attaching a patch to change this to the more consistent 'Regenerate derivative images'.
