I have 2 cck groups, one is free one is premium. Free role users can create/edit "free cck group". Premium role users can create/edit both free and premium cck groups.

Users maintain the premium role by subscription. If a user decides to downgrade to free role or the subscriptions fails they automatically go to free role, ad hence have no edit/create privileges of the premium cck group. However, on such downgrades of roles, I want to unpublish the premium cck group.

Is this possible with this module?

You might want to take a look at Option trim, although that only removes certain entries based on role, not show/hide an entire field.
