Document how all hooks work together. There is a hook_node_import.php, but there is no overview page to explain this a bit more.

I've been trying to implement support for CCK Date field, but after a few hours of reading the code and inserting debug statements, I can't say my understanding has greatly increased :-)

Documentation is being added to node_import.api.php. It is not complete yet, but work in progress.
