I'm currently running 5.x-1.x on my site. I'm in the process of upgrading to D6. A quick question is, should I upgrade to 5.x-2.x first before I install D6, or is that not necessary? Or if I go straight to D6, are there any possible problems I should keep an eye out for?

I think that both should work. Make a backup and let me know if you encounter problems.

Because a stable 6.x was never released, and many of the supporting modules that made the Event module so great, I decided to switch all my event nodes to regular nodes using the Date module which has an import/export feature to migrate.
