I've installed this on a on drupal 6 site. When posting to Facebook or MySpace there is no description or image.
In Facebook the 'title' is the url of the my site.
I am using a cck created node type with images attached through imagefield.
I've installed 'add this' to another drupal site without this problem.
I've tried service links and share this and have the same problem so this might not be a problem with the 'add this' module. My setup is pretty vanilla so I'm at a loss as to what the problem is. I am using the Domain module but don't know why that might cause a problem.
Any ideas or help would be much appreciated!!!

bjkeyser commentedI'm also having this problem... I don't know what facebook is looking to scrape off the posting... but whatever it is, drupal ain't providing it. I'm wondering if either of you has Clean URLs turned off?
NidSquid commentedI have Clean URLs turned on.

vesapalmu commentedCould you try to change to garland or some other theme for a minute and try sharing again? I tried a few times and to me it seems that the problem might have more to do with themes than addthis module. Facebook and friends actually connect to your shared url and try to fetch a description and image from that url.

HS commentedIt was working on the Marinelli theme until a few weeks ago. The images nor the titles show up if you try adding it to facebook through another way like a bookmarked share on Fb link. So I'm not so sure this is related to this module. Can someone else also confirm?
acouch commentedI've tried changing to Garland with no luck. I have not had time to investigate this further but should in the next couple of weeks. I agree that this might not be a problem specific to this module. I'll report my findings here.
HS commentedI'm still having the issue. It's not working even if I add a link directly to my FB profile.
It's not an issue with this module. More like an issue with pulling content from Drupal.
I am starting a forum post - link below - hopefully someone who knows will find it there.

vesapalmu commentedI am closing this ticket since there is no way we can fix this in the module. I have been sharing links for number of Drupal sites in FB with out any problems and if the problem is not theme related it sounds very strange indeed. Hope you'll find a solution for the problem.

HS commentedWesku>
Can you present us with an example? When did you last try the feature?
Can you pass on a link to one of your websites so we may attempt to share it?
It could well be a cache issue in Drupal performance settings. Is page compression enabled on your sites?
acouch commentedHere is an example url:
http://allforthetaking.org/picture-homeless-organize-rally-and-building-...
try using share this for facebook and there is no title, description or image.
again i have tried this with add this as well with the same results.
the only thing i can think of that is different about this site is that it uses domain module to manage all of the sites across the top navigation bar.
thanks.
HS commentedI dont use domain module - so its not that.
Waiting on Wesku who says he has "been sharing links for number of Drupal sites in FB with out any problems."
If he can provide a link to a Drupal site where it is being submitted to FB with no problems then I can buy that it;s the theme problem.
It's not a theme issue because it's not working on Garland either.
HS commentedIt doesnt even work on Drupal.org
Give it a try

vesapalmu commentedYour link works for me. I have a number of pictures to choose from, title is correct and even the description. Same thing with number of other Drupal sites.
Have you tried on a different computer, if this could be an issue with your browser settings or something like that?
HS commentedAre you sharing your home page or a node? It is only showing the default site name or URI instead of title when sharing a node, can you attach a screen shot to rule out browser issues please?
Or just try sharing a node and see if the attached image on a node and the correct title and teaser is being pulled.
HS commentedOk I can safely rule out browser issue. I can share content from CNN, Reuters and BBC not Drupal sites.
If this is an issue of concern to anyone, visit the thread I posted in one of my previous responses. Other people have confirmed this is a Drupal related problem.
Thanks.
HS commentedOk did a little digging up and Facebook on this page says:
Not sure what is hindering this on certain sites but not others??
vesapalmu commentedYou have a strange bug there. When I click your Drupal.org front page sharing link what I get is in the screenshot. This is not the best possible result, but pretty close. Only guess I can make is that you are accessing a different FB server farm and they have some very slight differences in code. Even that's unlikely, but this is just strange behaviour from FB.
HS commentedStrange..I know..
On my site the title of the shared item is replaced by the website url.
I just installed the page title module hoping that it would correct the issue, will keep you guys informed if that works.
couloir007 commentedAny updates to this post? I'm having the same issue.
pulliamjs commentedThis is not a bug. As post #16 states, Facebook basically scrapes your URL for meta tags to get title, description and thumbnail URL. You need to modify your page to include these meta tags in order to get higher fidelity posts to Facebook.
dvness commentedthe nodewords module doesn't have the option of specifying an image for the
tag =(

alaugh commentedI was having the same problem with Facebook. I switched from my regular theme to Garland, posted a link on Facebook all worked fine: Title, Description, Photo. Switched back to my regular theme after.
But I also noticed that my server was acting a little hanky—going out intermittently for 10 minutes or so now and then on all of my sites. Restarted Apache on the server and now, with my regular theme, all share posts to Facebook are working fine again.
alaugh commentedThat restart of Apache seems to have been coincidental. Back to the same issue again. Guess my theme needs some work.

nyleve101 commentedHi,
in case any one else needs the code, the code below allows you to successfully share with facebook, just insert it at the top of your relevant node template files.
Code provided by Divesh Kumar:
Hope all is well!

fehin commentedThanks Evelyn, it worked for me. Have you tried customizing the image path for other non-product node types?
nyleve101 commentedHi Fehin,
I'm not sure if this is what you're getting at but you can replace the imagecache preset and your node field to your own and it should be fine:
<?php
drupal_set_html_head("
field_yournode_image[0]['filepath']))."' />");
I hope that helps,
Evelyn

jeovani33 commentedJust a quick note.
The module will not work on a localhost.
It must be online.
