I've been trying to create a Panel page with additional views defined for if arguments are present. I create a new Panel Page, select the layout, and add two Taxonomy arguments, specifying that they will have their own displays. When I go to the other pages where these displays should be listed, Panels is still acting as if I've only got the default display.
A single time tonight, the interface gave me the tab buttons for the alternate displays. I added content to them and they functioned just as they should when I views the page with and without args. The next time I went in to edit, though, the buttons to access the additional displays were gone again. So far I haven't been able to see them again, either in the same Panel Page, or when creating a new one.

smithn.nc commentedI've narrowed things down a little further. I can get the other displays to appear in the UI if I have a % sign in the path. The arguments still work without the % in the path, but I don't get their alternate displays. This is a problem because I had planned to have the default display at "page", an alternate display at "page/%" and an alternate at "page/%/%".
When I create a path like "page/%", the standard version with no argument stops functioning as a path. I had hoped to not have to create a bunch of separate panel pages for these; does anyone have any idea what's going on?
Found a workaround for the issue:
If I add the '/%' to the end of the path, I can edit the additional displays. Then when I'm done, I can remove '/%' and all of the displays can be viewed, though I can't see them in the Panel Pages admin area. It's annoying to have to edit things this way, but it's better than not being able to use alternate panel displays.

merlinofchaos commentedPanels 2 is no longer available and is unsupported. Marking all Panels 2 issues won't fix.
