Problem/Motivation

The current home page is designed to allow specific elements to be customized, but the overall layout is hardcoded in the twig templates. Now that Event Platform will be built on top Drupal CMS, we should provide the same elements within a Canvas layout, allowing individual sites to fully customize the overall layout.

Proposed resolution

The required infrastructure for having the homepage built in Canvas has been implemented in #3605547: Optimize layout elements for use with Drupal Canvas and #3605407: Support Canvas-ready SDcs in Event Horizon. All that should be required here is providing updated configuration, for the rebuilt homepage and related elements.
