As he is a subsystem maintainer for other subsystems I don't think this is required, but huge +1 for this.
Andrei is great to work with, and his experience with this topic is unmatched.

Why do we add [patch to be ported] to the node title? That should be an issue status. Anyhow...

I don't think there are any additional tasks as per https://www.drupal.org/about/core/policies/maintainers/add-or-remove-a-s... to do because @amateescu is already a maintainer.
