Add a subsystem or topic maintainer

  1. As a user with the role “Administer maintainers” in the Drupal Core project navigate to https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal and click “Maintainers”.

    1. For the maintainer tick "Maintain issues" and “Write to VCS”.

    2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Update".

  2. Add the maintainer to the Drupal Core Subsystem and Topic Maintainers google group. This is currently difficult. The member name may not match the Drupal user name.

    1. Select 'People -> Members' from the menu on the left of the page.

  3. Add the maintainer to the subsystem and topic maintainer private slack channel, core-maintainers.

Remove a subsystem or topic maintainer

  1. As a user with the role “Administer maintainers” in the Drupal Core project navigate to https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal and click “Maintainers”.

    1. If the person does not have other roles that require the "Maintain issues" and “Write to VCS” permissions, then un-tick those permissions. The other roles may be a different subsystem, topic or being a mentor.

    2. IF the person now has no permissions, they can be deleted from the list.

    3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Update".

  2. Remove from the Drupal Core Subsystem and Topic Maintainers google group. This is currently difficult. The member name may not match the Drupal user name.

    1. Select 'People -> Members' from the menu on the left of the page.

  3. Remove from the maintainer from the subsystem and topic maintainer private slack channel, core-maintainers.

  4. Add the maintainer to the list of Past core maintainers.
