The last working revision for Drupal 4.6 is the one prior to the Forms API update that has recently landed (rev 1.55)

Is there a way to let this module support 4.6 and 4.7 at the same time?
the other words: Is there a way to let modules developed on 4.6 can running correctly on 4.7?

Most modules that do anything interesting will not run on both 4.6 and 4.7 because the upcoming 4.7 release has many major changes in the underlying architecture and code.

SO someone who knows how to tag 4-6 and has a CVS account please get this file

And make a 4-6 version of the project so that a download starts appearing on the 4.6 downloads page. It seems silly that this module has never been part of the build process for 4.6 to begin with.
