Registration and Initial Setup

  1. Apply for IXP positions through jobs.drupal.org/ixp-developer-hub
  2. Once hired, register at the IXP management site (drupal-ixp.site) and select "IXP User" role
  3. After approval, you'll be associated with your hiring organization's group

During Your Engagement

  1. Work with your assigned mentor (you should receive at least 1 hour of mentorship for every 10 hours of work)
  2. Every two weeks, create a "Progress Report" content:
    • Confirm your access to mentorship
    • Evaluate if tasks matched your skill level
    • Document any challenges or advanced tasks
    • Provide additional context as needed
  3. Throughout the engagement, work on required contributions:
    • Prepare a public blog post about your IXP experience
    • Contribute to at least three issues on drupal.org

Completing Your Engagement

  1. After completing at least 160 hours of paid work, create a "Final Report IXP" content:
    • Confirm mentorship access throughout the engagement
    • Assess your skill development during the program
    • Confirm you were paid for minimum 160 hours
    • Share the URL of your public blog post
    • Suggest any improvements to the IXP program
  2. Ensure your blog post and contributions are properly documented
  3. The organization will move the engagement to "Final Review"
  4. You may be contacted if additional information is needed

Beyond Your IXP Experience

  1. Consider participating in IXP community events
  2. Update your Drupal.org profile to showcase your experience
  3. Connect with the broader Drupal community
  4. Explore next steps in your Drupal career development
