Hi,
I was thinking if it is possible to have a permission setting whereby users can create surveys and have a link to invite their friends to participate in the survey.
I have been cracking my head for a long time for this. Is webforms able to do this?
Thanks.

quicksketchWebform does not have this functionality built-in. However, since all webforms are nodes, you can use any node access system to restricted access to Webforms. There are various node-access systems available for Drupal, but I'm not aware of one that does exactly what you're describing. Take a browse through the User access section of Drupal.org: http://drupal.org/project/Modules/category/74.

This is so because I feel that the UI of the webform module contains complex features which a normal user would probably not be interested in.
Are there plans to simplify/ divide the UI into one with complex/simple features?
In addition, I think it would be clearer if instead of filling in a label after select a form component, the user fills in "What question to ask" (a.k.a label) followed by selecting what format the user wants the answer to be (select, textarea etc) What do you think?
Thanks.

quicksketchThe interface of Webform is essentially on hold, as I'm working on a universal form builder for CCK and Webform: http://drupal.org/project/form_builder. The next version of Webform will likely see a reduction in several complex features, mostly because there will be an easier alternative to most problems. But until then (probably 6-8 months minimum), there are no plans to change the UI.

Will take another closer look at it soon.

quicksketchxander324, I find it interesting that you signed up to Drupal.org specifically just to promote non-Drupal software. :P
This is possible as I noted in #3, but it's not built into Webform since many other modules provide a variety of node access systems. I found Protected Node in a browse through the access modules, which simply lets you assign a node a password that users must enter to access the node. Still not quite a direct link, but getting pretty close.
