Problem/Motivation

PHPStan and PHPUnit are reporting errors when using the latest GitLab template, which upgrades to PHPStan 2 and PHPUnit 11.

Remaining tasks

Make the changes necessary to pass the latest GitLab template. For now, the template has been pinned to 1.9.6 so tests pass.

@jonathanshaw if you get a chance to review this, I updated the wakeup and sleep of a couple classes, PHPUnit 11 did not like some aspects of what was there before.

Update: I moved those changes into a separate issue #3540569: Serialization failures in change host submodule
