Migrate Drupal is being deprecated. This is to do the actual deprecation.

Remaining tasks

Postponed on sibling issues

  1. Do a thorough search of core for any remaining references to the extension.
    There is core/themes/stable9/css/migrate_drupal, but that can stay until this module is removed.
  2. Create a section on Deprecated and obsolete modules and themes to provide recommendations for sites using extension EXTENSION_NAME. The recommendations are to include instructions for sites using the extension and for contributed projects that depend on then extension.
  3. Add the following to the extension info.yml file

    4. lifecycle: deprecated
    lifecycle_link: https://www.drupal.org/node/3223395#s-migrate-drupal

  4. Add a change record and include a link the the doc page.
  5. Deprecate any library that is only used by the extension.

Update documentation about the deprecation when this is committed.

I assume that once this gets merged, we'll add the link target to https://www.drupal.org/node/3223395#s-migrate-drupal? Ah, just reviewed the IS. It is in there as next steps.

I don't see a CR though. Do we still need to add that? Otherwise, +1 on RTBC.

I read the change records and agree with the contents.

However, I did change it to follow the more or less template used for all extension removals. That meant moving the bulk of the test to the Migrate Drupal section of the doc page for deprecated and obsolete extensions.
