Upgrade path from 1.x to 2.x

Problem/Motivation

There are a few sites already running the event platform version 1.x and 2.x is a major rework. DrupalCamp England for one was set up on the 1.x platform not too long ago and we would like to keep the historic content without migrating it.

Steps to reproduce

1. Install site with events platform 1.x
2. Create demo content for events
3. Upgrade to versuon 2.x

Proposed resolution

Either document steps to uninstall 1.x and install 2.x or implement an upgrade path.
