I added forum topic but it is not displayed in the Forum. I have content access enabled. Does it require any other configuration to work with Forums?

No, forum posts are treated as any other content. Just configure access permissions appropriate.

I deleted the taxonomy and deleted all the categories and again enabled them. Now it is working.
