There are a few projects I saw that don't seem to have any use, that seem to be created for SEO or name squatting purposes. Namely:

I asked on Slack via #maintainers and got input to post this here, see https://drupal.slack.com/archives/CJ93UNJP4/p1724776499906539. This was just input from other maintainers, not by the moderation team itself.

I understand wanting to protect namespaces or branding, but the default text should at least be changed imo.

Perhaps creating an issue in their queues will help alert them to change the default text

That is probably a great first step in general, volkswagenchick. I did also ping the owners of those pages to get their attention on fixing this, so I don't think an issue is needed in this case.

I opened an issue in the queues for the projects listed in the issue summary. That should be the first step in any case.

I take this issue can be closed, since:

  • A project page has been changed to remove the placeholder text previously shown
  • The other project has been marked as unsupported

It seems like the extra NES related projects should be deleted rather than just unsupported. I know that's not typically done, but this is a case where the project was created and no code, so I think it would be appropriate in this case to delete them.

I deleted them considering them "test projects" (which is one of the two reasons for which projects without code can be deleted).
