Problem/Motivation
We are currently surveying people who started as Inexperience developers and are interested in sharing there experiences with others, developing the initiative scope, and best practices for the initiative. We will also like to invite people from different backgrounds: project managers, site builders, marketers, designers, and others.
It would be valuable to consider the recent experiences and get feedback from people who started recently and have a few years of working in a new position.
Proposed resolution
- Prepare a survey to collect feedback
- Set up a time frame to collect the stories and organized them
- Share the gathered date with the community
Remaining tasks
- [] Design Drupal-specific feedback collection tools
- [] Define a time frame for collecting data
- [] Collect and organize the date
- [] Share the data with the community on a visible way
How to collaborate
If you considered yourself new to Drupal and have experience a similar situation recently you are important part of this initiative and we will like to hear your story.
We are working on a prepared format to collect the stories.

flux423Following discussions with Carlos and Mike about improving developer onboarding in the Drupal community, I've created a document to capture the experiences of new Drupal developers entering our ecosystem.
This aims to understand the IXP Fellowship by investigating:

bsnodgrass commented@flux423, that's a pretty complete document, and well done. However, it seems to go beyond the scope of what I had in mind for this issue. I envisioned a short-term effort to get feedback from fairly new Drupal developers with recent career development experience. Their experience is much different than what we saw in the earlier days of Drupal. (pre D8+).
I envisioned a survey and possibly interviews with some of these folks to understand what they feel was lacking in their experience.
This kind of feedback could be beneficial as this program is developed.

flux423Thank you @bsnodgrass for the feedback and clarification. You make an good point about focusing on a survey at first - their experience is quite different from the pre-D8 era.
Would you like me to draft some survey questions to help understand their journey?

anicotoThanks for sharing this document https://www.drupal.org/project/ixp/issues/3451808#comment-15979757 it think it will be very useful along the journey. I took a couple of things from it and updated the ticket. Please feel free to prepare a survey so we could reviewed.
My initial toughs will be:
- Look what has been used by the community until now, and how feasible will be to use some tooling at this part of the process.
- Define a few fields so people can share their experience. Something like:
-- Name Fist / Last Optional
-- Country
-- Language
-- Companies relationships : study, first work opportunity,...
-- Mentors / special thanks to:
-- A little background / where are cumming from
-- Tell your experience
-- Takeaways
-- Links

flux423Thanks, @anilu, for the feedback! I built on what you shared and expanded it to include additional data that could be valuable from the start.
Here’s the updated version

I also opened up the document to allow editing. Tell me your thoughts.

anicotoThanks Flux I really like the proposal. Though it feels a little long, but maybe on a multiple steps forms gon't get the same feeling. Also, this people really want to share their stories.

ultimike@flux423 - focusing only on the "IXP Survey" tab of the GoogleDoc, I think it is a no-brainer to move this along.
My main question to everyone is this: how do we use the resultant data? I think we need specific answers to this, including who will be doing the work to utilize the data. I don't think we should start this effort until we have a "realistic in a reasonable time frame" plan in place.
Some initial ideas:
