IMAP integration?

hello there,

This module seems like a pretty awesome solution I'm thinking of using it for an intranet I'm building now, I was wondering if it's possible to use it by connecting to an IMAP server?

The people here all use gmail for their mails and I would like to integrate thse accounts into drupal and to use this webmail for the client-end.

Is this possible? What would the be technique used to connect the webmail to IMAP from gmail??
