larowlan hi

quietone Hi
dipakmdhrm :wave::skin-tone-5:
lendude Len, late to the party

0️⃣.5️⃣ How is your 2024 going so far? We’re already >25% of the way through!

Griffyn Heels Has been a great year so far, had a fab time at DrupalSouth last month and just got back from seeing fam in the UK.
pameeela can't complain!
dww TBH, the last couple of months have been pretty rough on all sorts of levels. But as I once heard and love repeating: "When you're going through hell, KEEP GOING!" :joy:
larowlan overwhelming feeling is where has the time gone
quietone Pretty good.

1️⃣ Do you have suggested topics you are looking to discuss? Post in this thread and we’ll open threads for them as appropriate.

Griffyn Heels DrupalCon Asia later in 2024. Any ideas on how we can promote Bugsmash at the conference? (edited)
mstrelan DrupalCon isn't it?
Griffyn Heels Fixed

2️⃣.1️⃣ Wins - what wins have you had since the last meeting? Share your successes!

pameeela I wasn't at the last meeting but I pulled my bug hammer out of storage after drupalsouth. since then i think i've worked on 3 or 4 bugs that were actually FIXED. which is kind of crazy to me. last time i was involved, i didn't see anything like the current pace of reviews/commits.
mstrelan I saw the RTBC queue at 0 at one stage (except for Plans), huge effort by the core committers to bring that down from 150+ a few weeks ago.
mstrelan
pameeela i think that the impact of the increased activity is hard to overstate. it is so motivating to see issues getting fixed so quickly.
Griffyn Heels Keen to see the updated stats.
lendude Yeah I should really do stats, but pretty swamped at the moment, will try :crossed_fingers:

2️⃣.2️⃣ Thanks - a space for callouts to other contributors who’ve helped you

pameeela i'm not even sure who to thank specifically for the current pace of activity (noted here). i think probably @smustgrave deserves a lot of credit as well as @nod_ for the NRQI and of course all of the core committers. @acbramley also jumped in on The One which was great!

2️⃣.3️⃣ Blockers - what’s getting in the way of your issues / goals

2️⃣.4️⃣ Approve last month’s minutes

Griffyn Heels March meeting notes: #3421471: Meeting of the Bug Smash Initiative 2024-03-12

3️⃣ Core bug statistics - current state of open bugs

lendude I’ll try to do fresh stats this week, but tried and failed before, so no promises (edited)
Griffyn Heels No stress mate, thanks.

4️⃣ Update on the one :o:

Griffyn Heels Update thread from this morning: https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C014QES6HSQ/p1712617201198449
lendude On a side note, this feels like it’s the best working version of our ‘fix focus’ set up so far. Agree?
catch Yeah it seems to be working. Some of the previous ones were features, but still got some progress happening. This one looks like it could go in very soon which would be great.
Griffyn Heels Yeah, I think ‘The One’ as an idea is going well and is seeing engagement.

5️⃣ Help me - Is there anything you could use a :hand:

6️⃣  PMNMI issues that we can close this fortnight

larowlan This is really low hanging fruit that we didn't get to at DrupalSouth sprint
larowlan We were mostly focused on helping newcomers which is a better use of our time but I wonder if we could reboot triage here
quietone I can probably do something here. Any suggestions of what would work?
quietone Post an issue per day, or is that too often.
larowlan issue a day sounds good - we seem to handle the triage well, maybe we could update the message
quietone That seem easiest.
larowlan I can update that
quietone I also wanted to add a reminder to everyone to add the three month notice when setting an issue to PMNMI more often. Especially, when the issue is rather stale.
larowlan should we make a separate agenda item for that @Griffyn Heels
Griffyn Heels Sure, what should it say? Did you want to just update the template text for agenda item 6️⃣ ?
larowlan oh sorry it was just for this meeting, can be next one

7️⃣ @Griffyn Heels “DrupalCon Asia later in 2024. Any ideas on how we can promote Bugsmash at the conference?” (edited)

Griffyn Heels Always feels weird quoting myself.
Griffyn Heels Open on submitting another spotlight on the initiative type talk, or if someone else wants to do that. Also, a bugsmash presence at the codesprint?
pameeela i submitted a bug smash talk to barcelona, described as a quick intro and then a how to get started. it was pretty last minute so i didn't have time to check whether anyone else was doing the same!
pameeela i would be happy to submit it to asia too, especially if it's not selected. not sure it would fly as a rerun.
larowlan we already have a slidedeck which you originally created from memory
pameeela yeah, i pulled that up, i was shocked to find it was from october 2020 :scream:
pameeela that one was really just the intro bit, didn't get into actually how to get started. but i think bug smash is unique in that the barrier to entry is super low, you just need to be pointed in the right direction.
Kristen Pol (she/her) I’m having a hard time finding the date for this
Griffyn Heels I believe it was early December ’24
pameeela no date set yet, but targeting late nov / early dec
Kristen Pol (she/her) Gotcha
Kristen Pol (she/her) Karl pointed me to the DrupalSouth closing session so I watched that which mentioned early December
pameeela yeah there were dates on the slide but tentative, there is no venue yet
