0️⃣ Who is here today? Comment in the thread below to introduce yourself and tell us why you are joining us.

davesparks Hi, I’m Dave and I’m project sponsor ; )
davesparks Dieuwe is away on leave today, so making his apologies
xurizaemon All good! With the power of async he can catch up later, but I expect he's busy 🙂
Chroid
Gareth hey!
ericgsmith Hello 🙂
Dieuwe Belated hello 🙂 catching up on the meeting chatter this morning

1️⃣ Do you have any topics to propose for the meeting today? Feel free to propose them in this thread, and then I will give them their own unique threads for discussion. Conversation moving slow? Go ahead and open your own thread in the next numeric order.

davesparks I think there is some discussion to be had around upgrading the “legacy” Sector 9. We’ve had a few go rounds on ths at our place, and 2 different approaches (bring as much as possible vs bring as little as possible is how I understand it)
davesparks I don’t think there is an answer to be hammered out just yet, as practical learnings from those are coming together, but issues and thoughts would be useful
xurizaemon Added 5️⃣ for that @davesparks - thanks!

2️⃣ What is a reasonable interval for meetings like this? Does monthly feel like a good cadence to kick off with?

davesparks I think Monthly is about the right balance, we can always up tempo if there is a specific initiative going on
xurizaemon How do November 2 or November 9 look for the next meeting? I see November 2 is release day for Sector 10 Starter Kit 🙂
xurizaemon Next meeting issue:[#3391799]Agenda contributions welcome!
davesparks Perhaps the week after a release day is better for the schedules  :innocent:
xurizaemon :+1:

3️⃣ What times would people prefer? Are all interested parties in NZ timezone?

davesparks We have had people come thru from Australian timezones, I think this time is workable for people over there as well
xurizaemon I'm going to propose 3pm First Thursdays, but that's only due to @HeikeT (I think) calendaring a meeting at 2:30 and me taking about half an hour to get going here today :)
xurizaemon ie I'm open to alternatives!
Dieuwe I think Thursday afternoons usually work out pretty well for us.
davesparks Seconded

4️⃣ Tell us about this meeting format?

xurizaemon This meeting format is one that's been adopted by a number of Drupal initiatives and working groups. It seems reasonable to adopt it for Sector too.
xurizaemon The Meta Issue I've lifted largely from the Recipes and Distributions Initiative - their meta issue and related meeting issues are at[#3269687]
xurizaemon For each meeting, we'll create a drupal-org issue that serves to collect the agenda before the meeting, and then preserves the meeting record after the meeting.
xurizaemon Meetings can be archived using a Chrome plugin ... I'm casting about to find that and document it right now!https://github.com/mdlutz24/drupal-meeting-parserhttps://github.com/drup...(edited)
xurizaemon Active participants are credited for meeting attendance. This is a nice way to reflect non-code contributions to the community! No, I don't yet know how to make that work ... (edited)
davesparks Once I got my head around it found it quite easy to follow in practice! Thanks for this!
xurizaemon Great! I will come back and :record-button: record the meeting after 24H or so to allow for async input.

6️⃣ What's the Sector 10 feature you're most excited for?

Gareth the new theming approach for sure!
davesparks Sort by controversial!
xurizaemon I'm really liking the decision to move to Gin, as I'm liking it on a non-Sector site currently. Much nicer than Claro.
xurizaemon I think for me, most exciting is moving towards more collab - like here, and with the plan (mentioned in Sector 10 Roadmap) to get the governance roadmap in place. Is there a post to come for that? Is that worth a thread in this meeting? Yes, 8️⃣ . (edited)

7️⃣ What do folks think of moving towards the Recipes and Distributions approach for future Sector - less "Drupal Profile", more "Set of recipes"?

xurizaemon I really like the idea of making Sector a composable set of features, but I haven't dived deep enough to validate this.I do know there are enough challenges in the existing mechanics of Profiles, and how to extend them, that this is very appealing.
Chroid There's already been some preliminary investigation into that over here.
xurizaemon Should we make an issue for that, so it's happening somewhere we can collaborate?
Chroid Sure! I think it was just waiting on the Recipes stuff to mature a little further.
davesparks we are provisionally keen in theory, but wary of biting off more than we can chew with 9>10 taking up a fair amount of the thinkering
Gareth 10 has been built with recipes kind of in mind, content types, taxonomies and a bunch of other stuff have been split into their own modules with their own config, with the aim to one day being recipe’able

8️⃣ Sector Governance Roadmap - any updates on this?

xurizaemon It's OK if not, we're all busy. And maybe that means opportunity for input, if there's a draft about ...
xurizaemon (But it's as likely I've missed something, so don't be shy correcting me.)
xurizaemon Is there some way folks can contribute?
davesparks We’ll note that as an open discussion item!
davesparks i’m trying to figure outa) what form that would take in practice (looking at what other people do/have done)and b) some aims and goals for that to guide decisions
xurizaemon Yes! It's a balancing act I'm sure. I don't know what working examples exist already.

Thanks everyone for participating!

I will record the meeting after 24H and post a transcript to the per-meeting issue #3391799: Sector distribution meeting - 2023-11

davesparks, xurizaemon, Chroid, Gareth, ericgsmith, Dieuwe
