I am trying to get a views entity reference for autocomplete entry of a user entity reference that has a name field
In views entity reference:
- The name field is added
- In format/settings the name field is enabled for searching
- In show/settings it is also enabled

Unfortunately, I am unable to make it search the full name.
I can add other fields and make them searchable but not the individual subfields of the name field..
Am I doing something wrong?

Add Subfields as Separate Fields
In your View, instead of adding the Name field as a single rendered field, try adding it multiple times, once per subcolumn:

When adding the field, look for variants like "Name (Given)", "Name (Family)", etc., if the Name module exposes them as separate field options. Enable each of those individual column fields for searching in the Entity Reference display settings.
