Description:
"Announcements" module has been backported to Drupal 7.
Once enabled, this module shows a feed of announcements from drupal.org to users with the "View official announcements related to Drupal" permission. This is intended to deliver important Drupal news to site administrators. Announcements may include: news about upcoming Drupal features, important information for site owners on older Drupal versions, and information about supporting the Drupal project through Drupal Association programs, etc.
