Suggested Terms is a great module, but is missing one thing mentioned here: http://drupal.org/node/335860 - it doesn't have an option for saving the entire lineage of a selected term. I know that Hierarchical Select has this option, but Suggested Terms is more intuitive in some cases.

Suggested terms is really for free-tagging situations. If you have a hierarchy of terms that you need to preserve then you shouldn't be using free-tagging, in which case this module is of no use anyway.

I'm aware of this. Free tagging and Suggested Terms can still be used in this case, I guess, provided that all the taxonomy terms make use of the taxonomy/term/n/all path option. This way all children in the hierarchy will still be listed in parents node lists whether parents terms were tagged or not. And this is really what I wanted to achieve - dman pointed me in the right direction http://drupal.org/node/335860.
