Description:
Drupal/Core/Field/FieldItemInterface has new methods fieldSettingsSummary() and storageSettingsSummary() methods. These methods can be used for communicating fundamental information about the storage settings, and field settings for users. For example, in the case of a reference field, the configured target entity type and bundles are a crucial information for understanding how the field can be used.
Default implementations of these methods has been added to Drupal/Core/Field/FieldItemBase.
