Kristen Pol (she/her) Kristen, California, catching up
lendude Len, NL, waking up
smustgrave Stephen, Virginia
Jaime Schmidt I'm Jaime Schmidt(jaimekristene), AU.   I am new to bugsmash since Drupal South :slightly_smiling_face:. (edited)

0️⃣.5️⃣ What was your favourite DrupalSouth session? Or what recording are you excited to watch when it comes out?

darvanen Sarah-Jane's keynote. Closely followed by Owen's talk on the future of Drupal, really good to hear what the DA are doing/planning to keep Drupal relevant.
Griffyn Heels I really enjoyed Diana Campbell's Content presentation - Will be sending the recording to quite a few clients.
jibran Yeah, SJ's keynote for me as well. (edited)
larowlan Need to watch SJ's then I was in the hall and missed it
kimb0 enjoyed most of the day 2 talks
kimb0 all good quality
kimb0 day 1 was spent in the hallway track mostly
acbramley Owens was up there for me
smustgrave The bugsmash one!
Jaime Schmidt I am waiting for Owen's talk to think it through some more.  I'd love to find a way for individuals to get paid for contributions or holding a role like being a maintainer or project manager and of course for coders/testers.
Jaime Schmidt Sarah's talk is on youtube now - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJ2MP2sLtHU

1️⃣ Do you have suggested topics you are looking to discuss? Post in this thread and we’ll open threads for them as appropriate.

Griffyn Heels What worked/didn’t work in DS’ Code Sprint? What can we improve for next time/other in person events?
smustgrave Are we going close old bugsmash meta tickets? Think there’s like 5-6 open still.

2️⃣.1️⃣ Wins - what wins have you had since the last meeting? Share your successes!

DanielVeza DrupalSouth Bugsmash code sprint was great! Good to get back into it after busyness and get a pretty big issue over to RTBC
larowlan yeah code sprint was great, also got my to-do list for core/contrib down from over 150 to ~70 when I got home (edited)

2️⃣.2️⃣ Thanks - a space for callouts to other contributors who’ve helped you

Kristen Pol (she/her) Thanks to the DrupalSouth contribution event organisers
darvanen Yes! and volunteers!!
smustgrave @alexpott for all his work on the RTBC queue

2️⃣.3️⃣ Blockers - what’s getting in the way of your issues / goals

darvanen Today I decided that trying to see particular issues through to completion was draining my enthusiasm, so I'll continue to watch them when they're commented on but I'm not going to keep them in a set of open tabs any more.
larowlan very busy at work still
Kristen Pol (she/her) Been trying to do less "work work" and enjoy "not being so productive"... for example, impromptu 3 day weekend with my boys when normally I would be working... this is a good thing
Kristen Pol (she/her) Pretty photo from my weekend: https://photos.app.goo.gl/humE5BfxYXbjT9ZFA

2️⃣.4️⃣ :loudspeaker: If you helped with the triage since the last meeting then don’t forget to post a comment to triage issue on d.o.

Griffyn Heels #3315044: [Meta] Bug Smash Initiative triage fortnight commencing 2022-10-11
Kristen Pol (she/her) Did this last week as part of DrupalSouth :+1:

2️⃣.5️⃣ Approve last fortnight’s minutes

Griffyn Heels Here’s the last fortnight: #3312214: Meeting of the Bug Smash Initiative 2022-10-11
Griffyn Heels Also, these two can be closed:#3309777: Meeting of the Bug Smash Initiative 2022-09-27(edited)

3️⃣ Core bug statistics - current state of open bugs

4️⃣ Lets check back on our targets and set some new ones

Griffyn Heels I did a review last meeting: https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C014QES6HSQ/p1665461713570439?thread_t...
Griffyn Heels Should we roll some new ones?

5️⃣ Help me - Is there anything you could use a :hand:

6️⃣ Let’s look back at PMNMI issues that we can close this fortnight

Griffyn Heels https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/search/drupal?text=&assigned=&subm...…]%20Smash%20Initiative&&&order=last_comment_timestamp&sort=asc
DanielVeza Just went through a few of the basic looking ones, starting at the oldest. I reckon these two in particular can be closed[#3076803]

7️⃣ What have you learned in the last fortnight?

Kristen Pol (she/her) I built a cart for the theater play we are building a set for... I have learned that things go wrong all the time and you just have to adapt... for example, the instructor wrote down the wrong measurements for some things so we just had to adjust as we went... and,. today, I got to use a jigsaw for the first time :carpentry_saw:
Jaime Schmidt I got php unit working locally and with xdebug and vagrant.

8️⃣ @Griffyn Heels What worked/didn’t work in DS’ Code Sprint? What can we improve for next time/other in person events?

Griffyn Heels I wasn’t able to attend, but it did seem very productive. So I’m just interested to hear what was done differently this time and if we can replicate/improve on this for the future
Jaime Schmidt I liked how the helpers worked through issues out loud with small groups then added the peoples names to the contributors.
larowlan Yes, to ^
larowlan Would recommend small groups, with someone leading triage talking through their thoughts
Jaime Schmidt They tried to set up themed tables but once I was settled I didn’t move.  It would be good to have a greeter to have a chat as people come in and set newbies with a leader
lendude Yeah one person talking through their thoughts while doing triage sounds like a good format, I did this on a not-in-person event once too and even there it worked surprisingly well. Good to hear that it worked in-person too!

9️⃣ @smustgrave “Are we going close old bugsmash meta tickets? Think there’s like 5-6 open still.”

Griffyn Heels Yes, here are the links, if someone can confirm that they are correct and can be closed:#3304218: [Meta] Bug Smash Initiative triage fortnight commencing 2022-08-16(edited)
smustgrave RTBC a bunch of them
Griffyn Heels Thanks!
smustgrave Let me know if I missed any
