Problem/Motivation
In the last few months there were two bug fixes and a drupal 9 / simplenews 3 compatiblity patch merged into 2.0.x-dev:
- https://www.drupal.org/project/simplenews_scheduler/issues/3203196
- https://www.drupal.org/project/simplenews_scheduler/issues/3255438
I think, with these three issues resolved, the 2.0.x branch is ready for a new version, e.g. 2.0.0-beta1
Proposed resolution
Tag a new version 2.0.0-beta1 from 2.0.x-dev branch.

jocowoodIn the issue https://www.drupal.org/project/simplenews_scheduler/issues/3230858 the maintainer berdir granted svenryen co-maintainership for simplenews_scheduler to tag a new version of the 2.x branch when the issue is merged. (Comment #30)
I helped to get this and the two other issue (see above) merged by providing a community review & test. Svenryen merged all three issues into the 2.x branch. The problem is now, that he does not have the time to tag a new version.
I would be very happy, if any other maintainer can tag this version and there are at least a few others persons (e.g. ippy in comment #31 in issue 3230858) which would be happy, too. If you do not have the time to do so, maybe it is an option to grant me co-maintainership, too? I know, that I dont have the reputation svenryen has, but I invested a lot of time in simplenews_scheduler the last few months and I would continue to do so, if I get the chance to "get this over the finish line".

ippy commented+1 for this from me :)
Great to do a release that incorporates recent work. So far we have been using the specific commit (fork) plus some patching (for our specific needs).
Some quick feedback too - when I asked the NGO client who uses this module about it, they reported that, since their D9 upgrade, using this (cce8203 Attempt to use 9.3.x as the Drupal version) they have managed to send thousands of newsletters successfully on schedule! So thank you for the effort - it really is appreciated.

socialnicheguru commentedThere is simplenews 3.0@beta available now. Will this 2.0.x version be compatible?

jocowoodYes, all three issues which are mentioned in the summary were tested with simplenews:3.0.0-beta2. Please see my posts regarding the review in the three issues to see the full setup.

slowflyer commentedWhat needs to be done to get a 2.0.0-beta1 version?

jocowoodAny chances, that we get a 2.0.0-beta1 version? If none of the maintainer has time for this module, is there a chance to get a co-maintainership?
