Working with Auto Assign Role

I'm not sure if it's ok to post this here, but I'm trying to help coordinate between the 2 modules if possible...

This thread from Auto Assign Role forum is asking Content Profile module to incorporate a patch to help the integration between the 2 modules. Would this be possible to get completed any time soon? I hope I have listed all the appropriate information here. Thank you.
