Problem/Motivation

For tmgmt we are using the "Auto accept finished translation" settings. Currently the moderation state on new translation is coming back as same state as original translation. We would like to always save the new translation as 'draft'.

So How to get the content back as 'draft' when "Auto accept finished translation" settings in on? Currently it is coming back as same state as original translation.

Proposed resolution

Could there be a setting or configuration that would allow to set such a value? or is there is already another way?

There's a setting on the settings page for exactly this in the current version.

So are you saing we need to get version 8.x-1.x-dev? currently i cannot find that settings. Could you please point us to where it is exactly?

ALso please note we are using Drupal 8

Yes. In general, whenever you ask for support or report a bug, always, always check the latest version first.
