D7 no longer accepts trailing dots in entity_ids which may affect some URLs

There was a bug in D7 whereby it would load an entity when there was a trailing dot on the numerical entity id.

This was most relevant in the context of URLs - for example both of these would load the same node:

• https://example.com/node/123
• https://example.com/node/123.

It's possible that fixing this bug will cause some URLs to break if they included a trailing dot (which is quite common in e-mails, for example).
