quietone	Yes. Family well and I've been chipping away at long outstanding house chores.
akmalfikri	Mix reviews to be honest. I just quit my job about two months ago to restart my drupal agency here in Malaysia. Looking forward in attending Drupalcon Prague. (edited)

Tinto	Organised and hosted my first Drupal event last week while in Kuala Lumpur. I think it was the first ever Drupal contribution event in Malaysia. Made some great new friends and we worked on the Drupal core issue queue together. It was a lot of fun!
dww	Not technically a bug, but very happy that 332796 finally landed (Major feature for Update Manager from 2008, solves a big UX problem, borderline bug).
dww	3279850 was an important bug smashed before 9.4.0-beta1, and helped us find some draft CRs that needed to be published.

6️⃣ Let’s look back at PMNMI issues that we can close this fortnight

quietone	I've been using this search to find issues where last updated > 3 months. Then triage to see if the '3 month' template can be used. If the '3 month' template is already there and I was not the one to add it, then it is very likely that I will close it.
akmalfikri	:question: If I could help in closing these issues, what should I do? Close the issue if there is no update in 3 months?
quietone	@akmalfikri There is more to the process than that. This process is relatively new and we are using it on older, stale issues. The '3 months' comment is added after the issue has already been waiting for a year for a response. It is a polite way to nudge the OP or a follower of the issue to respond, which some do and comment on the issue an update the status.So, say I add a '3 month' comment to an issue that has been PMNMI for over 1 year. Once the three months has passed another person (not me) is expected to triage it again, to double check that I haven't missed something and then decide what the status of the issue should be and comment.I suggest reading the bugsmash issue templates, particulary the ones for PMNMI.

akmalfikri	My idea is during any contribution event, eg - introduction of bugsmashing, could be held with a video call from ‘senior’ bugsmasher for any quick response for any queries related to bugsmashing would be great. During the event, we have some queries relating to the statuses and probably the technical part of the process that need a ‘senior’ figure to assist.

Tinto	One of the things I loved during the last contrib meetup, was that I explained attendees that they could ask questions about issues they found in #bugsmash. And when they did, there were almost instant responses. I feel that really contributed to the experience, especially for first-time bug smashers.
Tinto	In general, I think #bugsmash and #contribution-events are a match made in heaven. Triaging Drupal core issues is a great incentive to get together and get people interested in contributing. Plus, there is plenty to do for all experience levels. The fact that people can earn core credits quickly adds to their motivation. (edited)

larowlan	I think minor is probably OK not to hit the target, they're minor by nature
larowlan	But critical might make sense for our focus
quietone	What is more important, the bug count by priority or the bug years?
Kristen Pol (she/her)	IMO critical is more important that average age
larowlan	they're both important, but if I had to choose, criticals
larowlan	we used to say 'no new features' until criticals got below the 'threshold'
larowlan	but we don't have that anymore
quietone	I am cautious about a focus on criticals because I think it could discourage participation.
larowlan	yeah true, they can take a long time
Kristen Pol (she/her)	Good point... criticals can certainly be hard ones :confused:
larowlan	I think you're right, we should keep the general initiative focus as it is, but those who feel up to working on criticals should be encouraged to
quietone	Can't the initiative have two main priorities? Say, one for getting Critical issues to RTBC and the other to reduce bug years by triage.
larowlan	I think those are what we had in the goals :joy:
larowlan	reduce the open bugs as well as their age
larowlan	i.e keep calm and carry on :slightly_smiling_face: :keep-calm:
quietone	Right, I forgot that the goals list an average age.
lendude	Well, we are not making a lot of progress on the average age I think, although it doesn’t feel that way.Simple math: we have less bugs than 2 years ago, we have roughly the same number of open bug years => average number of years per bug has gone up:shrug:
lendude	But it still feels like we are making progress on that front, maybe because we closed most of the 15+ years bugs.
catch	Should we reduce the normal bug target, down to 4500? And the major bug target, down to 750?
catch	I feel like 'total bug years' is a better measure than 'average bug age'. If we close four two year old duplicates of a ten year old bug, then the average bug age goes up a lot.
jibran	I think the revised target for normal and major bugs makes sense. If we're going to revise then we should announce it as well.

jibran	We used to have D8Critical calls back in the day.
jibran	1hr session every week. We, it was mostly catch and alex, came up with postupdate hooks during those calls.
Kristen Pol (she/her)	For some reason, the “I'm feeling lucky” google feature popped in my head… it might be fun to have a button on d.o that randomly picks a bug for you to work on… though not sure anyone would actually use it :) (edited)
jibran	We used to have patch bingo feature on d.o. I think you can use it from your dashboard.

dww	I'm all for:Multiple goals.Those who can, focus on critical.Moving the goals if we get too close to meeting them. :wink: The ultimate goal is bug-free core. :sweat_smile: We'll never get there, but it's great to be trying, and I love what we've built here.
catch	There is probably some kind of point where the best we can do is maintain equilibrium, but I have no idea what that point is. So gradually moving the goals downwards based on trajectories seems like the best option. I think we should try to keep things attainable at any one point.
