This idea makes sense to me. I'm happy to do it if other maintainers agree.

Since one of the major changes since 1.0 was the use of views to generate the history reports, the improvement to display a 'no results found' in #3233096: Add empty message to the login history view would be a nice to have. But it should not be a release blocker.

Maybe leave this open 1-2 weeks more and see if anyone is willing to contribute the needed hook_update, and then create tag 1.1 if not?

I don't see any movement towards that issue being worked on. Feel free to tag 1.1, @greggles.
