👋 thanks for giving this a try and taking the time to report. I hope you find it useful.

The video was quite useful to see what's going on. In particular I can see you forgot to save the form display options.

Aside from that, make sure to update to the latest version to benefit from the bugfixes.

I hope this resolves your issue.

Also, make sure you use this in a Drupal 9 project. Now that Drupal 8 is EOL.

Hi, may i know the reason you closed this?

I alredy mentioned it in my post that it does not work even i saved config correctly. I do have drupal 9. But it seems this module does not work at all even with the latest version.
Still the same -not possible to see any unlock button and i tried many times.

Sounds fair. From the video it looked like you were using Drupal 8. I don't know what might be happening in your Drupal install. Could you try to enable Claro and see if that works there?

I have successfully used this with Seven and Claro, so I am not sure what the strange interaction may be.

Could you confirm this is also an issue with a bare Simplytest.me install?

Any additional info could help debugging and it could help others in the future.

I will leave this open.

I'm experiencing this too! Field Protect works on my client project, but not on a vanilla install. Field Protect's hook_field_widget_complete_form_alter() implementation isn't getting called for some reason. The hook was introduced in Drupal 9.2, and I've tried it both 9.2.1 and 9.3, with the same result.

Related: Let's change the core requirement definition in the info.yml (and add a composer.json and add the dependency?) to indicate ^9.2 instead of 8 || 9

Oh dear, I was tired while testing last night =D It all works fine, I was just looking at the ADD form rather than the EDIT form, hah.

🤞🏻 @coaston that maybe you were just testing with 9.0 or 9.1 and that upgrading to 9.2+ fixes it for you.
