Search API Sort Priority has been automatically opened to new maintainer applications, as it will otherwise become unsupported with the end of life of Drupal 8 on 2 Nov, 2021.
This is an adaptation of our existing process for transferring project maintainership.
After the standard 14-day waiting period from this issue being opened, if an existing maintainer has not closed it, this project is eligible for new maintainers, without necessarily waiting for existing maintainers’ approval.
Next steps:
- An existing maintainer may close this issue and opt out of this accelerated process.
- A prospective new maintainer can take this issue after the 14 day window has
elapsed and take the following steps to be added as a maintainer:- Comment here explaining why you would like to maintain the module.
- If the project is opted in to security coverage, confirm that you have previously received security coverage opt-in permission.
- If an existing maintainer has not commented, move the issue to the Drupal.org Project Ownership queue, by editing the “Project” field on this issue.
- The Drupal.org site moderators will review the issue, and if it meets the requirements can grant you maintainer access.

borisson_I would like to make a d9 compat release for this.
I don't have the vetted role, but (co-)maintain Search API and Facets, which are in this ecosystem as well, so I'm not sure how to proceed here. I've asked in #maintainers on drupal-slack. (https://drupal.slack.com/archives/CJ93UNJP4/p1635957866089400)
I've sent a tweet to ask for permission earlier: https://twitter.com/Borisson/status/1453321692068159500

gisleborisson_,
thamk you for offering to maintain Search API Sort Priority.
Since the project is opted in to security coverage, the site moderators cannot add you as maintainer. I see that you've been credited with fixing two security advisories, and made a large number of other contributions. Unfortunately, the rules are rigid, and I still can't add you as maintainer.
The options for being added as maintainer open to you are:
Since there is nothing the site moderators can do here, I'm moving it back to the project's issue queue.

dakwamineHello,
I'm Dakwamine.
Like borisson_, I would like to create the D9 compatible release for search_api_sort_priority: #3136197: Drupal 9 Readiness.
I think I have the vetted role.
Is it possible?

gisleDakwamine,
yes I see from this application: #3099834: [D8] User Status Online that it was set to "Fixed" by apaderno in comment #29.My bad: That was someone else's application.
However, the role does not appear in your user profile.
I hope we shall be able to resolve this, but I sent a PM to apaderno and asked him to weight in.
Postponed until we get a response.

avpadernoDakwamine created #3101067: [D8] Facets Custom Label, but used a project with not enough code for the application. (That's why the application is tagged PAreview: single application approval.)
The project has been covered by the security advisory policy, but Dakwamine didn't get the vetted role. To get the role, Dakwamine should re-apply once more with a different project.

dakwamineOh ok, thanks for the clarification. Will redo it later. (Can someone save this module from being unmaintained forever?)

dakku commented@borisson_ sorry for the late reply, welcome to the project!

avpadernoSince dakku (the project owner) added borisson_ as co-maintainer, this issue can be considered fixed.
