1️⃣ Status and what's next

mtift This tread is for discussing the overall status of the Olivero initiative and where we're going in broad terms. We'll save specific issue discussions for later threads.
mherchel Meta issue is at #3177296: [META] Make Olivero stable.
mherchel We had a meeting with a number of committers last week including Gabor, XJM, Catch, Webchick and Lauri. My goal is still to get it in by 9.3.x and make it the default. XJM had some reservations on making it stable and approving it in the same release, but they will discuss. We have a followup meeting this Fri
mherchel We have a couple new a11y stable-blocker issues, but most of them are RTBC. There’s one (#3223281: Olivero: Primary nav search icon invisible in forced-colors mode in MS Edge) that Andrew Macpherson is working on
mherchel I also went through and did a lot of triaging and pruning.
mtift Excitement is building!
mherchel Next up is an Olivero mini-sprint tomorrow with several folks where I hope we can get some of these RTBC issues committed. :crossed_fingers:

mherchel I could use a review on #3225241: Olivero primary menu JS completely breaks if site-builder specifies over 2 levels deep
mherchel I’ll update the issue summary with testing instructions shortly
shaal @mherchel I RTBC'd that issue
shaal oh wait, I should also change the settings to allow it to happen anyway, and see that it doesn't break ?
mherchel @shaal thanks! you also need to make sure you modify the configuration of the block so it shows more than 2 levels deep
shaal I created 3 levels menu, and it works well (edited)
shaal should I do something more complex?
shaal I added another comment to the issue.Please let me know if additional tests are needed
