+1 (subscribing). Please-please-please get this to work!
I also asked about this in http://drupal.org/node/509772
This would be awesome for Tags vocabularies, especially on community sites, which already have thousands of Tags.
It would be great if admins could simply go to Taxonomy >> Edit vocabulary and simply tick a box that would say "Designate for ALinks". Or, alternatively, in Site building >> Alinks >> Add link, have a list of existing Taxonomy vocabularies with checkboxes, which we would be able to tick.
A warning see #333910: Admin screen needs a pager, In my own opinion untill we have paging or something similar for the editing page adding large numbers of links can cause memory issues

Ivo.Radulovski commentedHello!
Use http://drupal.org/project/glossify
Alinks is almost merged into Glossify - Glossify is more complex but has more features!
