Missing version numbers or timestamps

Problem/Motivation

I would like to update a Drupal installation with a Views view based on Role Watchdog, -- one for keeping the project up to date and second, in order to upgrade to Drupal 9. However, this is not possible, because, in the actual dev-version of Role Watchdog, fields are missing and cannot be reinstalled.

In order to find a solution, or to find out, when features in the module have been deleted, it would be helpful to have a version number.

Steps to reproduce

Upgrade dev-version (about a year ago) to actual version.
