Fatal function override_option()

I upgraded from 6.x-2.0-rc2 to rc3 and received the following error when I was doing update.php. I figured it probably had been fixed in the dev so I removed rc3 and put in the current dev build, but when I ran update.php again I received the same error. The error for both is the same.

Fatal error: Call to a member function override_option() on a non-object in xxx.xxxxx.com/sites/all/modules/date/includes/date_api.views_default.inc on line 99

I removed part of the direct path specific to my site.

I've moved back to rc2 and all seems fine.
