Problem/Motivation

In some cases when you target an entity reference field, the field to reference by is not autodetected. In this case, the summary of the target configuration displays the text "Please select a field to reference by.". However, this text is easily missed.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a feed type for processing nodes
  2. On the mapping page, map to "Authored by (uid)".

You'll then see the following:

Note: for the mapping target "Authored by (uid)", the reference could be autodetected. I'd consider this a bug that this doesn't happen, but that's a separate issue.

Proposed resolution

Add a warning sign to the message:
