Setup OTP Over Phone as 2FA / TFA method

This document will guide you through configuring OTP (One-Time Passcode) over Phone Call as a Second Factor Authentication (2FA/TFA) method for your Drupal account using the Two-Factor Authentication (TFA) / Passwordless Login module. This module is compatible with Drupal 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11.

Prerequisites:

The module is activated on your Drupal site. (Follow Installation steps)

Setup OTP Over Phone 2FA method:

  1. Navigate to the 2FA for Primary Admin tab of the module.
    Path: /admin/config/people/miniorange_2fa/setup_twofactor
  2. Scroll down to discover the OTP (One Time Passcode) based 2FA methods section.
  3. In the Action column beside an OTP Over Phone, click on the Configure button.
  4. On the Configure OTP over Phone pop-up, in the Phone Number field, select your country code from the dropdown and then enter your mobile number.
  5. Click on the Request OTP button.
  6. Enter the OTP you received during your phone call into the OTP text field and then click the Verify button to activate this method.

You have successfully configured the OTP Over Phone - TFA method.

User Experience:

Once you complete the OTP Over Phone setup, open a new browser/private window, and login into your Drupal site. You will be asked to authenticate your identity using the configured 2FA method - OTP Over Phone.
