1️⃣ Do you have suggested topics you are looking to discuss? Post in this thread and we’ll open threads for them as appropriate.
| dww |
How's it going with triaging our own open bug reports? |
| dww |
What can we do to try to maintain / build momentum for #bugsmash? |
| dww |
@Griffyn Heels ^ |
2️⃣.1️⃣ Wins - what wins have you had since the last meeting in December? Share your successes!
2️⃣.2️⃣ Thanks - a space for callouts to other contributors who’ve helped you
| mohit_aghera |
Thanks to @quietone, @larowlan for reviewing issues and adding helpful suggestions. |
| Spokje |
@quietone For endlessly reviewing Code Standard issues (which have a lot of changes) ((and you have to use actual words, not just our beloved code, scary stuff)) |
| Kristen Pol (she/her) |
@quietone @Spokje @mohit_aghera @larowlan pop up a lot in the issues I've been looking at:) |
| Spokje |
(likes the way there's no statement in the above about it either being a good or a bad thing... :smiling_imp: ) |
| Kristen Pol (she/her) |
Haha! Always enjoy the company:) |
| Kristen Pol (she/her) |
I feel like we're all helping each other roll the ball up the hill |

(Vaguely remembers a dude called Sisyphus doing just that and the story not ending well...) (edited) |
| Kristen Pol (she/her) |
After I wrote that, I questioned if that was a good analogy;) |
2️⃣.3️⃣ Blockers - what’s getting in the way of your issues / goals
| larowlan |
day job is very busy right now |
| Spokje |
Endlessly rerolling MRs since GItLab isn't very good at auto-merging/-rebasing from HEAD. |
| Kristen Pol (she/her) |
I get overwhelmed by the issues with so many gitlab commits that I avoid them |
| Kristen Pol (she/her) |
Also need to focus on the bazillion issues already in my personal queue rather than always looking at new stuff |
3️⃣ Core bug statistics - current state of open bugs

is going to sleep in for the next 287 years... |
4️⃣ Nominate your pet issue for a bug-smash target for the next fortnight
5️⃣ Help me - Is there anything you could use a :hand:
| Spokje |
I'm still a bit unclear when to tag an issue with BUg Smash . Can it be any issue you work on? Does it have to be a new issue that you triaged? Can it be something that you just like to work on, but is an issue that's older/forgotten/newly created by yourself? |
| dww |
The only criteria is that it started as a core bug and you looked at it. |
| dww |
So, yes, anything that you found categorized as a core bug that you want to work on, for whatever reasons... |
| Spokje |
All clear (for) now, ta. |
6️⃣ From @dww "How's it going with triaging our own open bug reports?" (edited)
| dww |
What a great idea from the last meeting! I'm just getting started (I know, late to the party), but it's fun. Just re-rolled a 6-digit bug (139015) from 2007 that's still present in D7. |

| larowlan |
I got my list from 16 to 12. I was a bit sneaky filing a few obvious feature requests as bugs |
| quietone |
Mine didn't change, but I had reviewed them a few months agon. |
| Spokje |
I've managed to add 2 to my list  |
| lendude |
Triaged mine, surprisingly short list, I should open more bugs  |
| Matroskeen |
Happy to see this initiative. I already triaged mine, and now I’m chasing issues created by my teammates :smiling_imp: |
7️⃣ From @dww "What can we do to try to maintain / build momentum for #bugsmash?"
| Griffyn Heels |
Our biggest member surges have definitely come from being involved in events e.g. the recent DrupalCon. So definitely more of that. |
| larowlan |
There's a drupal europe (online) announced for Oct. We should start planning for sprint days |
| dww |
I haven't been around as much the last few weeks (particularly busy with life and clients), so it's hard to tell -- have we had new folks since DrupalCon actively participating after the event? |
| dww |
Can we do anything to reach out to them and nurture their involvement? |
| dww |
Wonder if the blog post I wrote had any impact, and if it's worth doing more of that. |
| dww |
Any other ideas on how to keep interest up and hopefully new recruits joining the efforts? |
| Kristen Pol (she/her) |
Something Chris Darke mentioned for #d10readiness mentoring from DrupalCon was to try to follow up with the mentees... maybe we can track down issues from that event and do that? |
| dww |
Yeah, I'm now wishing we had a "welcome to #BugSmash" survey or something. What brings you to the initiative? How'd you find out about us?What skills do you have to offer?...Might be useful to set up something like this for the future so as we have more folks joining, we have some sense of when they joined, why, and what they're interested in... |
| larowlan |
we had a meeting item for ^ our first meeting after drupalcon |
| dww |
Sorry I missed that meeting! Good to know. I'll look for the notes. Thanks. |
