I don't think I can change the standard feed of the medium platform and I see other medium feeds in the list that have the same output:

Not sure how to fix this? I understand it would be an improvement, but technically it only seems to be a recommendation to have a summary between 600 and 1000 characters.

Yes, it seems it's supposed to be only a suggestion.
