Problem/Motivation

Every time an email is sent, two notices are received:

Notice: Undefined index: character_set in Drupal\swiftmailer\Plugin\Mail\SwiftMailer->getApplicableCharset() (line 518 of modules/contrib/swiftmailer/src/Plugin/Mail/SwiftMailer.php).
Notice: Undefined index: username in Drupal\swiftmailer\TransportFactory->getTransport() (line 56 of modules/contrib/swiftmailer/src/TransportFactory.php)

Steps to reproduce

Every time an email is sent the notice is received.

Proposed resolution

Apply a patch.

Please can you update the issue summary to describe a sequence of steps to reproduce the bug? In other words, how can it be that $this->config['message']['character_set'] is undefined?
