mohit.aghera Hi, Mohit here. India

Paulo Henrique Cota Starling Paulo Henrique - Belo Horizonte, Brazil
xjm xjm, catching up in the NA-morning

1️⃣ Do you have suggested topics you are looking to discuss? Post in this thread and we’ll open threads for them as appropriate.

jibran What happened to 0️⃣ ?
pameeela welcome back @jibran :slightly_smiling_face:
acbramley Welcome baack!!!
larowlan  welcome back
Griffyn Heels What'd everyone think of DrupalGov? Any highlight talks?
quietone Are the RTBC issues in better shape for committer? (edited)
dww Getting more resources involved in #BugSmash, maybe with subthreads for:Pam's idea on "off week" triage sessions (maybe we can even do some in other TZs so we get even more involvement)How it's going with the other efforts we discussed a few weeks back (other initiatives, talking to shops about sponsoring bugsmash time for their people, etc).
dww @Griffyn Heels not sure if you saw the last two suggestions for threads...
dww Thanks... I meant 7️⃣ .1️⃣ for the subthreads. ;)
Griffyn Heels Ah right, good point
dww Like we did at #3169041: Meeting of the Bug Smash Initiative 2020-09-15

2️⃣.1️⃣ Wins - what wins have you had this fortnight - share your successes!

amjad1233 Not yet there but coming soon... Hanging for a quite a while last few things to sort #2751269: Submitting a comment in the non default language redirects you to the default language
jibran There is new beta in town called 9.1 beta 1
larowlan An 8.yo bug smashed last week #1538118: Update status does not verify the identity or authenticity of the release history URL
dww That's the win I was going to post. ;)

2️⃣.2️⃣ Thanks - a space for callouts to other contributors who’ve helped you this fortnight

larowlan the folks who organised DrupalGov
dww Thanks @larowlan for committing 1538118! :tada:

2️⃣.3️⃣ Blockers - what’s getting in the way of your issues / goals

amjad1233 Time mostly switching from work to Contribute mode
pameeela DrupalGov took up most of my contribution time this week :slightly_smiling_face:
mohit.aghera I am not able to figure out the failures for this issue #3067007: LanguageNegotiationUrlFallback should use content language for TYPE_URL fallback# - Still blocked on this about which test case approach to take. (edited)

3️⃣ Core bug statistics - current state of open bugs

larowlan 28 smashed, but 47 new ones, we went backwards this fortnight
dww We need to recruit more resources into this initiative or we'll never keep up with the firehose of the core queue...
larowlan i would like to explore pam’s idea about a weekly triage. keeping on top of new issues is a big helper.
Griffyn Heels Could do it on the off week?
larowlan let’s run a doodle-poll for the best time (doodle.com) (edited)
dww I assume the slack poll thing is too wonky to try to use inline?
dww BTW, we have 7️⃣ .1️⃣ for this. ;)
lendude I’ll see if I can run my stats scraper script again some time this week, get some more data points
xjm Interesting; I wonder if the new bug reports were prompted by the alpha/beta?
xjm Would be interesting to track the data over a year and see if there's a pattern there

4️⃣ Nominate your pet issue for a bug-smash target for the next fortnight

dww I'd love to work on any update.module bugs sorted by priority:#2731187: CSRF in update module manual check links (D7 backport major)Help welcome! If other folks write the patches, I can review/RTBC them and Lee can commit them. If I'm the only one writing, it slows down. ;) Thanks!

5️⃣ "What'd everyone think of DrupalGov? Any highlight talks?"

Griffyn Heels I liked Murray's competitive ranking of sites based on lighthouse metrics
Griffyn Heels Details are here: optimal.site-showcase.com
mohit.aghera https://www.drupalgovcon.org/2020/program/sessions/future-drupal-multisites this was really interesting.

6️⃣ from @quietone "Are the RTBC issues in better shape for committer?"

larowlan I feel they are yes

7️⃣ from @dww "Getting more resources involved in #BugSmash" (edited)

Griffyn Heels 199 members! Almost at the big 200!
dww That's a good start. I'm also talking about getting more of those folks actively smashing. And we still need a lot more folks involved, people not on Slack, etc...
lendude I promoted the initiative during my automated test talk this weekend  Just keep getting the word out
dww Wish I could have made it to your talk, but the time was very incompatible with my TZ... Was it recorded?
lendude They said it would be, haven’t seen it yet though. Don’t think you’ll learn anything new
dww I was thinking as a resource to share with others.
kndr I was lucky to be at your lecture during Drupaljam :slightly_smiling_face: It was great stuff especially for newcomers like me. Three slides were really helpful from my point of view: "Time to start writing", "Finding existing test coverage" and "Still unsure?". In short: "Any test is better than nothing" and "Finding existig test coverage is hard".
Paulo Henrique Cota Starling But I think I will  @lendude

7️⃣. 1️⃣ from @dww "Pam's idea on "off week" triage sessions (maybe we can even do some in other TZs so we get even more involvement)

dww Maybe do a couple of these at various timezones? Not sure the best way to promote them.
larowlan let’s setup a doodle.com poll and get two good time-slots - can you handle that Griff?
dww Let's have some other days and completely different timezones on the poll, too. Thanks!

7️⃣. 2️⃣ from @dww "How it's going with the other efforts we discussed a few weeks back (other initiatives, talking to shops about sponsoring bugsmash time for their people, etc)."

dww I'm going to talk to TEN7 this week about doing a planet blog post about #bugsmash, why they sponsor some of my time on it, and inviting other shops to do the same. Hopefully that'll help get some conversation going...
