Problem/Motivation
At now, for live chat with Drupal community, and even follow chats, we need to use only Slack program (or web interface) and register in Drupal Slack workspace. This is not so good for regular user, because there are many other messengers and chat systems, that people use, and this step with registering "another one new account" is stopper for many users. And even after registering, users must remember it and visit sometimes for check new messages in Drupal Slack workspace, instead of see them in his favorite messenger.
Proposed resolution
At now exists good and easy solution for bridge (merge, mirror) some (or all) Slack channels to other popular chat networks, based on Matrix protocol, here is ready-to-use Slack bot for this: https://drupal.slack.com/apps/A1BKR8Y8J-element-bridge
But for allow to use it for Drupal community users, Drupal Slack workspace admins need to allow adding this bot to Slack workspace. I, and some other users, already many times asks them for do this, but give negative response, without any serious reasons why they don't want to do this.
So, I fill this feature request issue for another try discuss this problem and understand the reasons why this not still happened.
Matrix.org developers at support@matrix.org or support room https://matrix.to/#/#slack:half-shot.uk will be glad to help you with configuring and answering questions about security or other workflow.
