Kristen Pol (she/her) I have an idea that just popped in my head to bounce off everyone. What if OTHER INITIATIVE LEADS tagged certain bug issues they really want eyes on with Bug Smash Review (or something) which indicates we take a look at them and switch to Bug Smash Initiative once someone does evaluate it. ???? larowlan it would depend on how many bugs they had, in general initiatives are about tasks/features right?

quietone haha, asking me to work on theme issues is like asking a pig to fly. Nonetheless, I looked at a few and confirmed that I am no help there.

pameeela just wondering if this is something we should pursue further, i did a trial of posting issues that needed specific actions, but had no takers. should we keep trying this?

Kristy Even though I had to leave early, I found it valuable when we had our triage meeting over hangouts as it gave me an opportunity to observe and learn and collaborate

6️⃣ pameeela has been asked to present on the initiative for a local meetup - is there anything folks would like highlighted?

lendude I think that helping lower the daunting threshold to ‘getting involved’ is something worth pointing out, especially for a local meetup if not many are involved yet

dww Yeah, I think part of our "offer" to other initiatives is equivalent to the thread at the last meeting about reaching out to subsystem maintainers and the folks in MAINTAINERS.txt... we've got a small, hopefully growing, motivated and capable group of folks with various skills who want to fix bugs in core. If you want to get more eyes on something, get more traffic for reviews, more folks willing to re-roll, etc, you can tag your bugs with our initiative tag and we'll try to help.  If we can. ;)  It's not much, but it's way more than nothing.  Certainly a good way to "cross-pollinate" a bit and get more folks involved in the other initiatives.  Mutual support.  Mutual momentum... (edited)
